Win... Place... Show!
A Day at the Races!

Spend the day watching and wagering on your favorite ponies while sipping a cocktail served to you at your own linen covered table. Along with admission to the track, the package includes a wonderful buffet lunch, a racing program and seating in the exclusive Turf Club, protected from the elements. Spring Fling in the Eastbay Hills

Say goodbye to the winter doldrums! Spring Fling is MAXparty's fabulous new event in a fabulous new venue. The location for Spring Fling is the beautiful Oakland Hills home of our very own member Dr. Steven Brauser. Cocktails, wine tastings, gourmet dining, games, spectacular vistas, musicians, magic and more are all waiting for you for only $32 (Members) and $40 (Guests). Filoli Garden Tour and lunch at Huddart Park

MAX returns yet again to the lovely gardens of Filoli, with a lunch in nearby Huddart Park. You'll see thousands of beautiful flowers and can tour the stunning Georgian mansion. Reserve by paying online. Members $12, guests $17, and optional lunch $15.

Dive Dining with MAXsouth

As you walk into Andy's BBQ, a WWII era block-shaped building, you'll meet a full bar with good beers on tap and a décor that is basically a shrine to Joe Montana. All this would normally give them a four star rating. Unfortunately the place is a little too well lit and a little too clean for our liking - we are divers after all, aren't we? - almost placing Andy's into the "Too Nice to be a Dive" category. MAXcookbook
 

MAX Is Cooking Up A Storm! Thursday, 4/19 at 6:30pm -- MAX is going to write a cookbook! This endeavor, headed up by foodie Joel Goldfarb, will begin with its first Cookbook Committee Meeting on Thursday, April 19th, 7:00PM at Vince Beaudet's. You can participate in 2 ways: you may submit a recipe for consideration and/or you may join the committee. Recipe guidelines to go with the chapter themes will be available soon. Those interested in publishing, editing, cooking, recipe testing, still photography or eating are encouraged to get in touch with Joel at  935.7910. Let's have fun!

MAXfriday at Crowne Plaza

MAX's 13th Birthday Party!

MAXfriday in San Francisco is relocating to the Crowne Plaza Union Square hotel on Sutter Street at Powell. To help celebrate our new location, we're throwing ourselves a birthday party! There will be music, surprises, as well as surprise guests, and all your MAX friends will be there! As a special treat, the MAX Angels will be there, in uniform! Join us on the the 30th floor at 6:00PM. As with all our regular  MAXfriday events, entrance is free for MAX members, and only $5 for guests. Print the MAX Birthday Ad and get in free!

San Jose Tech Museum Tour

Remember the movie "2001 A Space Odyssey?" Well, we're there and amazingly, many of the things in that movie are fact today. Let's have a look into the future once more. MAX will visit the San Jose Tech Museum of Innovation, including a great exhibit about the movie classic and you will have the chance to view the future. Make your reservation by calling Gordon Deegan at  591-8347. The price for members is $12, and $15 for non members. After our visit, we will enjoy an optional lunch together at a restaurant in San Jose. The Tech Museum of Innovation is at 201 South Market Street, San Jose, 408-294-TECH, www.thetech.org.

TASTE dinner at Piaf's

We enjoyed Piaf's so much last time, we're returning for a great get-together dinner. Check out our special menu and join us for a great time! Members $60, guests $68. Cocktails at 6, dinner at 7. Reserve online and Bill Funke will confirm your spot at the table.
