Creation of the world: Instead of Adam and Eve our lead characters are Adam and Steve and Jane and Mabel, a lesbian couple with whom they decide to start civilization. Original sin, irreverence, mysterious forces, infidelity, flashing repartee and wanton wiles are offered up in this seriously silly and sexy farce. A West Coast premiere of a play by Paul Rudnick, writer of the award winning play Jeffrey. The performance is at the New Conservatory Theatre in San Francisco. Tickets $25 members, $28 guests.

Take Me Out To A Giant Ball Game

It's the SF Giants vs. Milwaukee Brewers for a great day at PacBell Park. MAXsports has obtained 25 tickets on the Third Base side with terrific views of the Bay. Stanford Museum tour

Did you know that the Stanford University has the largest collection outside of Paris of the works of Auguste Rodin, the great French sculptor? The Rodin open air sculptor garden, including the famous "Gates of Hell", is not to be missed. That's not all! The Cantor Arts Center, formerly the Leland Stanford, Jr. Art Museum, on the Stanford University campus has a marvelous collection ranging from ancient to avante-garde art. MAXsouth invites you to a docent-led tour of this museum on Saturday July 14, at 11:00 AM with an optional lunch to follow.  Make your reservations early.  We will meet at 10:50AM on the steps of the museum for a delightful visit to this surprise jewel of the peninsula art world.

Hot Fun in the Summer Time!

Break out the Speedos, shades and Coppertone for a fun day of delicious food, cool cocktails and hot men. Hosted by Mike and Alejendro, this is one gathering not to be missed. Your all-inclusive day includes an afternoon of BBQ entrees, appetizers, margaritas, wine, beer, soda, a resort like pool and plenty of fun! The fun will continue until at least 8:00-ish and the cost is a mere $20.00 (Members) / $30.00 (Guests). The party is sold out at this time, but you can be on the waitlist. Prime Time News with Hank Plante


Join MAXforum for a live broadcast of KPIX prime time news!

Hank Plante has extended an invitation to MAX to view a live broadcast of the news. Hank will be giving us a tour of the KPIX facilities. He'll also share his perspective on broadcast journalism. Pizza with light refreshments will be provided.

Tour of World Famous Monterey Aquarium

It's time for the quarterly new and renewed member brunch. New members and those members who have renewed their membership between February and June 2001 will receive an invitation to this great free event which will explain - or in some cases, remind - you about all the wonderful things that can happen with your MAXmembership. An All Broadway Concert

MAX is proud to continue its sponsorship of the Richmond/Ermet AIDS Foundation's annual AIDS benefit concert gala at the Palace of Fine Arts. This year's roster of stars is one of the best yet, with MAXreport cover girl (and Oscar winner) Shirley Jones, cabaret chanteuse and Oz nun (and Oscar winner) Rita Moreno, friend of Whoopi (and Oscar writer) Bruce Vilanch, Taxi driver (and...uh-oh, no more Oscars) Marilu Henner, local loves Jill Eikenberry, Michael Tucker, Paula West and Meg Mackay, that Boitano boy, diva divine Carole Cook and a host of others. As always, 100% of the ticket sales benefit a deserving group of AIDS service organizations.

Host-level tickets starting at $150 include a pre-show gala and a dessert party with the cast following the performance. Performance only tickets are $75 on
Monday and $50 & $75 on Tuesday. To buy tickets, call the REAF ticket line at  273-1620. MAX members will be seated together so be sure to identify yourself as a MAX member. If you're interested in volunteering for this event, call the volunteer coordinator, Larry Klein at  552-3355.
