New Member Dinner
MAX holds a monthly New Member Dinner to which you are invited, even
if you're not yet a member. If you are a new member or considering
membership in MAX and would like to meet some other fun guys, you'll
have a great time at our monthly dinner party. It will be a simple
dinner prepared as a team effort by all those who attend. The cost is
about $10 and will be shared by attendees. What we usually do is take
some group photos, organize teams to prepare dinner, hear a short
presentation about MAX, and talk around the dinner table and get to know
each other. If you're interested,
send us an email. We'll let you know if there's space left and give
you all the details. Bob Callori at 821-7988 coordinates these
dinners.

Hiking: Tennessee Valley
"This very popular scenic trail in the Marin Headlands traces
Tennessee Valley out to Tennessee Cove and the Pacific Ocean. While the
area is not wooded, the views of the Pacific Ocean can be gorgeous and
the sunsets memorable. The best trailhead is at the Miwok stables,
elevation 200 feet. From there, the first .8 mile is paved and attracts
many mountain bikers. The route turns to gravel for the final 1.1 miles
tracing along a pretty lagoon before dropping a final .2 mile to
Tennessee Cove. This trail has become a favorite for family hiking or
biking groups." Tom Stienstra. This hike is pretty easy going.
Reserve online. For
more information, contact Paul Mugnier at 431-2422.

Hiking: Donner Falls
"At Mt. Diablo, the Bay Area's grand old mountain rising above the
East Bay hills, there are a series of largely secret waterfalls that can
be as pretty as anything after a rain and yet well hidden. Reaching them
requires a 6.5 mile hike, a good climb and something of a fortune hunt,
and in return you get an experience that shows why the Bay Area is one
of the most special places on earth. We can't imagine Diablo any
prettier than on this hike." Tom Stienstra.
Reserve online. For
more information, contact Paul Mugnier at 431-2422.

Pre-Thanksgiving Feast
Looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with your loving family?
Maybe not looking forward to spending with your dysfunctional family?
How about nowhere to go to enjoy a Thanksgiving feast? Well, no matter
what category you fall into, you're invited to participate in a
pre-Thanksgiving feast at the Noe Valley home of Duke Hoffman on Sunday,
November 23rd from 1-5pm. The MAX Party committee wanted to launch the
holiday season with a nice, relatively small gathering of MAX Men,
enjoying the foods of the Thanksgiving holiday. The menu will include
most of the standards, a couple of different salads, turkey with
cornbread stuffing, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes and
country green beans. There'll be some starters and some nice dessert,
too, including a spirited pumpkin cheesecake with pecan crumb crust,
among other things. Wine will be served through the afternoon. If you
want to come and 'stuff' yourself,
sign up soon. There are
only 20 open spots. Cost is $25 + Acteva fees for Members and $30 + fees
for non-members. More information is available by contacting Bryan Hawk
at 648-0479.

MAX is making a pilgrimage to Yosemite for the
Thanksgiving holiday! So, get out your calendars now and schedule four
food-and-fun-filled fabulous days in a luxurious two-level house just
outside one of America’s most beautiful national parks. There are
bedrooms, bathrooms, hot tubs, and pool tables galore, along with all
the food and drink you can consume. Highlight of the stay of course, is
a fabulous Thanksgiving feast on the 27th. We’ll do some hiking to walk
off those extra calories, (or get even more stuffed with an optional
Saturday-night dinner at the famous Ahwahnee Hotel.) Price for the trip:
$300 per member (non members 20% more). This event will be limited to 14
people; participants must share beds and help with meals. For more
