Descriptions of Board of Directors positions:


Chairman of the Board 
Functions as the organization's CEO, responsible for the day-to-day operations of MAX. He chairs the monthly board meetings and retreats, manages the volunteer administrative staff and serves as the primary spokesperson for MAX.

Finance Director  Serves as MAX's CFO with overall responsibility for all financial accounts and reporting. He prepares the monthly financial reports to the Board and oversees all state and federal tax filings.

Marketing Director  Manages public relations opportunities for the organization.

Membership Director  Manages new member recruitment and member retention programs, including marketing and advertising activities. Manages MAX member benefits program and develops strategies to promote volunteerism.

Arts Director  Coordinates cultural and arts programs and group tickets to local shows and concerts.

Community Outreach Director  Manages MAX Fund and other community relations programs and charitable fundraising activities.

Forum Director  Coordinates special interest, educational and personal development workshops and programs.

Party Director  Coordinates party-type activities throughout the year including theme parties such as Valentine's Day and the Halloween party.

MAXSouth Director  Manages the South Bay TGIF on the second Friday of each month and plan other activities in the South Bay.

MAXEast Director  Manages the East Bay TGIF on the fourth Friday of each month and plan other activities in the East Bay.

Sports Director  Co-ordinates sports-related activities and team sports.

TGIF Director  Manages volunteers who coordinate the TGIF events on the first and third Friday of each month in San Francisco.

WHO IS ELIGIBLE

Any dues-paying member is eligible to place his name in nomination for a Board position and all are encouraged to do so. Elections will be held at the August 26 Board meeting following interviews with all candidates. The new Board is elected by the retiring Board and takes office October 1.
