Monterey Sea Kayaking
Monterey Sea Kayaking! Paddle among playful sea otters, great blue
herons and snowy egrets! Spend the night at my aunt’s fabulous hacienda!
Admission on will be $235.00/Members, $260.00/Guests and that includes
all food, lodging, all equipment needed, transportation, sleeping bags,
and expert instruction by our handsome gay guides. Pretty much
everything you need! All physical ability levels are welcomed, too.
Aside from being more fun than you’ve probably had in a long time, the
trip benefits a San Francisco-based nonprofit called Healing Waters (www.hwaters.org) which
provides outdoor trips for people living with HIV and AIDS. And here’s
the best part – for every MAXmember who attends one of the above trips,
Healing Waters can afford to send THREE people with HIV on a similar
outing. That’s something that you can feel really good about. Make your
reservation with Cale Siler at 621-7529 at Ext: 2894.

How’s business? Find out from the pros at a luncheon seminar to be
hosted by the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA) as part of the
official 2002 LGBT Pride activities. The speaker panel, moderated by the
Hon. Susan Leal, Treasurer of the City and County of San Francisco,
includes Chip Conley (Joie de Vivre Hospitality), Scott Mandell (San
Francisco Gay Men's Chorus), Susan Kennedy (Federation of Gay Games),
Michelle Ogata (State of California) and other local and national
business leaders to be announced. Topics for the luncheon panel
discussion will include marketing to the gay and lesbian audience from
both inside and outside the community; LGBT-owned small businesses and
how they can compete in the wider marketplace; and what makes up the
“gay” dollar. A business networking session at noon will precede the
luncheon and panel, and will provide information and referral on
business development programs and other opportunities for Bay Area LGBT
small business owners. You can order your tickets by calling 441-3651 or online at www.GGBA.com.
Founded in 1974, the Golden Gate Business Association (GGBA) began as
the nation's first business organization founded by and for gay and
lesbian entrepreneurs. (VENUE: Sir Francis Drake Hotel, 450 Powell

San Francisco Gay Pride MAXbooth
Several good men are desired to promote MAX during San Francisco’s
Pride Parade. Just imagine yourself manning the MAXbooth while a
continuous flow of potential members marches by, many with a keen
curiosity about our organization. This will be your opportunity to spin
MAX the way that shows your best side. We also need those men with
overactive design genes to help with booth design. Contact Ty Rollins at 978-2600 and let him know you'd like to join in the fun and help
out.
